SEX CRIMES
Raymond A. Kimble has represented individuals charged with all types of sexual offenses ranging from Indecent Exposure to Child Molestation, Child Pornography and Sexual Assault. Unfortunately it only takes one person to make an allegation before you can be charged. Often prosecutors believe the accuser even though there is little or no corroborating evidence.
Tragically, the penalties for a sexual offense are severe. Often, conviction can result in a long prison sentence, a lifetime of probation, being forced to register as a sex offender and requiring law enforcement to notify neighbors of your presence in the community. For certain sex crimes, an individual could be imprisoned for the rest of his life.
Of course, the best defense to a sex crime is an aggressive offense. Many times, these charges arise following a divorce or child custody battle. Additionally, a prosecutor may attempt to use past conduct or innocent statements you may have made in order to obtain a conviction. We will always strive to educate the prosecutor about the real reasons behind allegations ( ie: divorce) and attempt to eliminate or limit the use of so called “past conduct” evidence and incriminating statements against you.
Aside from taking an aggressive stance against the prosecutor's evidence, we have a number of experts at our disposal available to assist in your defense. These experts are often utilized to prove a client is not a risk to children, or alternatively, to illustrate mistakes made by police during their own investigation.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE
Undoubtedly, domestic violence offenses are aggressively
prosecuted in municipal, justice and superior courts
throughout the state. Individuals convicted of any
domestic violence type crimes must be placed on
probation and must participate in mandatory counseling.
If you are convicted of any domestic violence offenses,
you automatically lose rights to own and possess any
firearm.
Prosecution for domestic violence offenses can range from a simple order of protection violation to aggravated assault. Police will often arrest someone even though their domestic partner says they do not wish to prosecute.
ASSAULT
Basically, an assault occurs when one person
causes injury to or places another in fear of injury.
The levels of assault vary a great deal and possible
punishment may range from mandatory counseling to
probation or mandatory prison terms. Generally, the
degree of assault or possible punishment is based upon
the seriousness of an alleged victim's injury or
presence of a weapon.
Certainly, an experienced defense attorney may utilize a number of available defenses including self-defense, defending property or defending another person to combat an assault charge. Additionally, the state must prove you specifically intended to engage in this behavior.
DRUG OFFENSES
As you may have heard, prosecutors are now demanding
harsher sentences for those accused of possessing,
transporting or selling illegal drugs and marijuana.
Surely, the “War on Drugs” has become a rallying point
and longer terms of probation, huge fines and lengthy
prison sentences are the government's goal.
Raymond Kimble has represented many individuals charged with possession and sale of drugs and marijuana. Mr. Kimble has successfully defended clients by challenging the conduct of police in searching a person, home or vehicle. Many times, incriminating statements made by clients can be suppressed because they were not properly advised of their rights.
BURGLARY
Burglary, theft and robbery offenses are
extremely serious charges and could very well impact an
individual for the rest of their life. Undoubtedly these
type of offenses are strongly considered by potential
employers, lenders, apartment managers, etc.
Additionally, the penalties following a conviction can
include probation, jail and even prison.
